OUR FARMERS MARKET BOARD

Travis De Nevers, President
Travis
Travis has been involved with the farmers market since 2018, when he joined as a vendor selling soap and beauty products. He became a board member in 2019 and was elected president in 2024. His background is in business development and organizational growth.
Travis is passionate about promoting access to healthy, fresh, and sustainable food for the community. He sees the farmers market as a social space where people can come together, share experiences, and connect.
Travis is a PNW native, living in Des Moines with his partner for the last 2 years. When he’s not at the market, you will find him crafting away in his craft room.

Criselda Casault, Secretary
Criselda
Criselda is starting her second year on the board and is the newly elected secretary. Criselda is a busy mother of 2 boys and has been married to her husband for 20 years. She was born in the Philippines and moved to Washington in 1986. She resides in SeaTac but frequents the Des Moines marina at least 4 days a week to walk her dog, Buddy. When she’s not walking Buddy, she’s crafting making doggie bandanas and other cool swag items.
Criselda has fond memories of this market dating back to when her children were in preschool.  So, when the opportunity to get involved arose, she was enthusiastically up for the challenge. She’s ready to dive in and use her extensive experience in marketing and events planning to help elevate the amazing events that take place at the market.

Zori Pruneda
Zori P.
Zori started out as a vendor at the Des Moines Waterfront Farmers Market about 13 years ago selling hand made soap and body products, often with her two young children in tow. Zori has been a Des Moines resident now for about 9 years and truly loves every moment that she gets to spend in this great community.
Now with children grown Zori has more time to give back to the community.  Zori has been on the board since the end of summer 2021 and is excited to support the market's success.
In Zori's 24+ years working for the County, she has mastered a number of safety protocols and initiatives that she plans on implementing to ensure the market stays a safe, and great, space for all to enjoy.

Kris Van Gasken
Kris
Kris is a fourth generation Des Moines resident who loves the city and believes in community service. She is the Executive Director of the Des Moines Area Food Bank, which has long partnered with our Farmers Market by providing free Summer Meals for Kids & Teens at the market.
Kris joined the board in 2010 and loves how the Farmers Market brings the community together, supporting small businesses and providing access to fresh, local food.
Kris loves to travel. She is an avid supporter of Habitat for Humanity and the Husky Alumni Band (Go Dawgs!) and enjoys spending time on her sailboat.

Lori Fife

Lori started vending at the DMWFM in 2019, selling a variety of baked goods & soups, and then became a board member.  She left her board position to concentrate on starting Schuller's Shortbread, which she currently owns and operates.  Her background is professional cooking and baking, but she loves gardening and has a side gig working for a bicycle company doing visual merchandising.  Lori wants small farmers and producers who are striving to make a living to have an outlet that cuts out the middle and allows them to sell directly to their customer so as to build the "know your farmer/baker/grower/producer' mantra.  It allows for community building at its best.  Born and raised in White Center, Lori settled in Burien 30 years ago.  She is all about the PNW and enjoys the outdoors as much as possible.
